Are you sponsored by a scholarship?

Below you will find the responsibilities of a sponsored student as they relate to your F-1 student status:

  1. Follow the rules of your sponsor, the university, and F-1 visa requirements!
  2. Understand the requirements of your scholarship
  3. Make sure you have a current financial support letter (or financial guarantee)
  4. Check the expiration date of your financial support letter or guarantee. It is your responsibility to ensure your financial support letter or guarantee is valid.
    1. If your financial support letter or guarantee is expired or will expire soon, make sure to work with your sponsor to renew it.
  5. Be sure to check your USD email regularly for messages from your sponsor, teacher, and the ELA.

Please contact and speak with an ELA Advisor if you have any questions.

Check your MySanDiego online student account for holds!

Be sure to check your online student account by visiting the MySanDiego portal for any outstanding personal balances each session. You are responsible to pay any fees that are not covered by your sponsor such as parking citations or on-campus housing room fees. We recommend checking your USD email often for messages from the ELA or various USD offices.

Students will not receive their grades or certificate until their student account balance is paid. Please contact and speak with an ELA Advisor if you have any questions.
