English Language academy prospective students

OVERVIEW

Located on the beautiful campus of the University of San Diego, renowned for its beauty and Spanish Renaissance-inspired architecture, the English Language Academy (ELA) offers classes taught by experienced, enthusiastic instructors.

The ELA staff is committed to preparing students to succeed in the social and academic communities of the university, as well as their lives outside the university. The friendly and dedicated staff is here to help students with academic planning, housing, visa processing, social activities, and campus functions. Programs range from:

Application Process:

An application is available for download for the Intensive English Language Program (IELP).  We strongly encourage applicants to apply in advance of the program start date in order to secure the F-1 student visa and housing.

Housing Options:

USD Student Housing 

University on-campus housing cannot guarantee dorm rooms for ELA students. Students requesting dorm rooms will be placed on an Interest List (waiting list) but the dorms may be full. Please contact Residential Life via email at [email protected] if you wish to be placed on the Interest List.

Off-Campus Housing

Off-campus housing may take 4-6 weeks to find. Give yourself enough time to find an apartment. If you are coming to San Diego without making prior housing arrangements, you will need to book a hotel room, or find a temporary place to stay before your arrival. The neighborhoods nearest USD are Pacific Beach, Mission Valley, Mission Beach, and Linda Vista.
