This program is designed to engage students in their learning process and transform them into active learners. Students will reinforce language skills, as well as develop new ones which will help them succeed in a post-secondary setting. Through a variety of projects and task-based activities, including debates, presentations, research, and teamwork they will improve their communicative and leadership abilities.
The Global Leadership Summer Program will not only provide students with an amazing academic experience, but also offer an opportunity to develop international friendships during an exciting, fun-filled summer!
Who Should Attend: Non-native English speakers who are between 13 and 17 years of age
Academic Schedule: The program offers flexible start dates with 2, 3, and 4-week options and consists of 17.5 hours of language instruction in the morning, Cultural Workshops in the afternoon, field trips, activities and social events in the afternoon and on weekends.
LA Trip Details: a 3-day weekend, 2-night trip to Los Angeles July 28-July 30, 2023 (which includes visiting famous sights & entrance into Disneyland). Students attending the trip must plan to depart San Diego July 31, 2023. If students wish to depart on July 30, 2023, it must be from LAX, and departure should be 19:00.

Residential Accommodations: Students stay in the university’s student residence halls. They are modern, clean and comfortable apartments, generally for eight students in twin-study bedrooms with two en-suite bathrooms and a living area. Each residence has its own reception area, round-the-clock security, vending machines and laundry facilities. Residential students have full-board which includes three meals per day.
Instructors: USD faculty and experienced staff provide a stimulating and participative learning environment.

ATTENTION: The program dates are July 2, 2023 to August 6, 2023. The program runs from Sunday to Sunday and consists of English Lessons 17.5 hours per week: Monday-Friday; Cultural Workshops Tuesday and Thursday; and activities during the weekdays, with a full-day Saturday excursion to a variety of attractions.
Program enrollment minimum is two weeks. You may choose from the following start dates, depending on how many weeks you wish to attend:
2 Weeks: July 2/9/16/23
3 Weeks: July 2/9/16
4: Weeks: July 2/9
*LA Trip is included for residential enrollments. Students departing from San Diego International Airport will return form the LA Trip to USD for one night on campus, then depart for home July 31, 2023. If students wish to depart July 30, 2023 it must be from LAX, and departure should be at 19:00.
