Credit Validation

Course Description

Credit Validation for DoDEA Participants Only

Participants will develop an annual plan and activities calendar for delivery of school counseling services. Participants will document their annual plan on the ASCA 4th Edition Annual Administrative Conference template. The goal(s) must be different from last year and support areas of improvement that will impact the district/school and aligned to DoDEAs Blueprint. They may use the ASCA 4th Edition Annual Calendar template to document activities. The Annual Administrative Conference will be signed by the school administrator(s) and school counselor(s).

School counselors use the annual calendar to prioritize and communicate school counseling program priorities. The school counseling program has one annual calendar that includes all major school counseling activities delivered or coordinated by the school counselor(s). The annual calendar increases visibility of the school counseling program and provides focus on events or activities of value for the students, parents, and staff.

The annual calendar includes activities such as:

  • School counseling classroom lessons
  • Delivery of DoDEA initiatives and curriculum (i.e,. Signs of Suicide, Childhelp, Bullying Prevention, Character Education, Career exploration, awareness, planning, and advising)
  • Special events (i.e., open house, parent university, school/community activities)
