Course Description

The small group accent training is designed for individuals from diverse language backgrounds.  A taped evaluation of each participant will be conducted and each member of the group will receive individualized goals focused on their specific communication needs.  A systematic method emphasizing fluency and clarity is utilized.  The goals will be developed through daily in-class and out of class practice using a web-based accent modification program. 

Course Details

Who should attend: Attorneys, Scientists, Medical Personnel, Executives, Customer Service Representatives, Managers, or Employees who speak English as a Second Language and whose job requires clear and effective communication. 

Course format:  Instruction may be delivered in an online or in-person format at the English Language Academy (ELA), on the University of San Diego campus.

Additional Information:  Course may run for 10-14 weeks depending on the needs of the student and includes a pre- and post- assessment.  The group meets once a week for 1 hour.
