This course will allow educators to gain an introductory look into Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and Evidenced Based Practices (EBP) that will support learners with ASD PK-12th grade. Participants will complete a series of self-paced modules provided by AFIRM to include an introduction to ASD, selected EBPs and modules of their choosing. The AFIRM modules are “designed to help you learn the step-by-step process of planning for, using, and monitoring an EBP with learners with ASD”. After viewing the required modules participants will share a brief reflection of their key take-aways and possible next steps. This course is open to general and special education teachers PK-12 and will be self-paced learning opportunity. Feedback from this introductory course will lead to future professional development opportunities.
Number of Units: 1.0 graduate level extension credit(s) in semester hours
Who Should Attend: This course provides continuing education for DoDEA educators wanting to gain an introductory look into Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and Evidenced Based Practices (EBP) that will support learners.
Refund Policy: All Credit Validation enrollments are refundable, less a $25 fee, if requested within 30 days of enrollment date. There will be no refunds for Credit Validation after the allotted 30 days.
