Learn the Techniques and Strategies to Lead High-Quality Projects in Your Organization


This project-based certificate program equips you with critical Lean and Six Sigma tools and techniques that will develop your team leadership skills and understanding of all aspects of the “DMAIC” methodology in accordance with Six Sigma process improvement principles, tools, and techniques that improve processes within your organization.

The 5S, Value Stream Mapping, SMED, and Kanban, tools will dramatically improve your organization by removing non-value added activities while improving cycle-time, decreasing product costs, and reducing inventory. The “DMAIC” methodology in accordance with Six Sigma process improvement principles, tools, and techniques will develop your skills to successfully launch a project, develop and transition it from phase to phase, complete it, and evaluate its success.

As an integral part of our program, you will complete work-based activities throughout your course which is comprised of hands-on immersion experiences that complement the formal classroom instruction. The project work is performed in the workplace (or work-like setting), with genuine project responsibilities for an organization.

  • Attend 70% of scheduled classes
  • Complete all coursework with a final GPA of 2.5 (out of 4) or higher
  • Describe the philosophies and principles needed to successfully complete projects on time
  • Plan, design, conduct, and analyze experiments using a structured methodology
  • Perform inferential statistics to identify statistically significant causes of variation in the system
  • Demonstrate team leadership skills and recognize all aspects of the DMAIC model
  • Apply quality and improvement techniques to advance efficiencies in your organization
  • Identify the role of Lean and continuous improvement methods within your organization
  • Apply Lean concepts such as 5S, waste reduction, Process Mapping, Value Stream Mapping
  • Mistake proofing to a project in your workplace
  • A bachelor's degree and/or 3 -5 years of work experience is recommended.
