The Strategic Online Marketing program offers stand alone courses and certificate paths for students to gain practical digital marketing skills. Students will learn to create keyword strategies that can be applied to website development and search engine optimization and generate traffic to a through linking strategies, search engine optimization, marketing campaigns, advertising, social media, video, and email marketing.

Are textbooks are required? 

No, all course materials are shared in class or through your course Dropbox folder. 

Do I need a parking permit?

No, Parking permits are required on campus Monday - Friday from 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Pay-by-Plate All paid parking areas at USD operate as pay-by-plate. This means that a license plate number is required when making a payment at the pay station. It may be helpful to take a picture of your license plate after you park your vehicle. Once you have made your payment, there is no need to display your receipt on your dashboard. Payment at all metered space locations above may also be made from your smart phone. Students must pay to park in either the Mission Parking Structure (subject to space availability) or the West Parking Structure, West Parking Lot and Gravel Parking Lot.

Do courses need to be taken in sequence?

No, courses can be taken in any sequence. Students are recommended to begin their course study with MKT-X810 Building Your Brand and Website Foundation. Recommended course schedules available upon request.

How long are courses?

Each course is 4 weeks in duration, and meet once a week at the University of San Diego. 

I am unsure if I want to pursue a certificate, can I make a decision after a few courses?

Yes, all courses can be taken as stand alone professional development courses. Once you are ready to declare yourself as a certificate track student, make sure to add the certificate fee to y our cart or contact us at (619) 260-4585.

When should I pay for the certificate fee?

It is recommended to pay for your one-time $45.00 certificate fee upon your first course.
