COVID-19 Updates: University of San Diego, San Diego County, and California

Closed:

• Gyms and fitness facilities
• Places of worship
• Hair salons and barbershops
• Expanded Personal Care Services (includes nail & facial salons, cosmetology)
• Office-based businesses (except for essential sectors)
• Indoor malls
• Cardrooms, satellite wagering, and racetracks
• Family entertainment, including bowling alleys and arcades
• Movie theaters (uses family entertainment guidance)
• Museums, galleries, zoos, and aquariums

K-12 schools

The state will not reopen in-person classes in counties on the County Monitoring List, which currently includes San Diego County. See State Guidance: https://files.covid19.ca.gov/pdf/guidance-schools.pdf

These activities are still closed and the state has not provided guidance. They include:

• Indoor playgrounds, such as ball pits and laser tag
• Saunas and steam rooms
• Live theater
• Nightclubs
• Concerts
• Festivals
• Theme parks
• Live audience sports
• Colleges and universities
