Course Description

Credit Validation for DoDEA Educators Only

This course will allow participants to learn about and implement the Responsive ClassroomFirst Six Weeks of School program in their classroom/neighborhood. Participants will meet as a small group with a designated member of the Student Support Services Team (e.g., school counselors or school psychologist) and review and discuss the Responsive Classroom - First Six Weeks of School program. The course will highlight common language and the implementation of weekly classroom lessons organized around a social emotional learning (SEL) focus during a daily morning meeting (i.e., greeting, sharing, brief group activity and morning message).

Course Details

Number of Units: 1.0 - 2.0 graduate level extension credit(s) in semester hours depending on the offering.

Who Should Attend: This course provides continuing education for DoDEA educators.

Course Materials: The First Six Weeks of School, 2nd Edition by Center for Responsive Schools Inc. available at Amazon.com or your local bookstore
