Course Description

Credit Validation for DoDEA Participants Only

This graduate course was designed for general education teachers, ESOL teachers, administrators, and ISSs to build capacity to support the social, emotional, and academic needs of multilingual learners across content areas and grade levels. The course will be broken down into four modules.

Each module will include a local face-to-face session facilitated by ESOL Teacher Leaders at each complex. For school complexes in Europe without a local facilitator, a virtual teacher leader will facilitate the live sessions via MS Teams. Access to all materials will be provided via the syllabus and live sessions.

  2. Relationship Building with Multilingual Learners
  3. Strategies to Overcome Barriers to Multilingual Learner Success
  4. Strategies to Integrate SEL with Academic Content
