Engage Individually with Literature to Make a Positive Change in the Classroom

After completing the corresponding R.E.A.D. Part I Series course, launch a critical dialogue using Social-Emotional Learning and the Brain: Strategies to Help Your Students Thrive with other related writings and/or videos from the field of education that you will individually research. Engage within a professional learning community, promoting continuous improvement and professional development. Build on the ideas and perspectives of Social-Emotional Learning and the Brain: Strategies to Help Your Students Thrive, pursuing avenues of further research and action to improve education.

This course allows you to engage individually with literature to make a positive change in the classroom. It is one of many in the University of San Diego’s R.E.A.D. Part I and Part II Series that allows you to complete your reading and assignments at your own pace and when it is convenient for you!

Number of Units: 2.0 graduate level extension credit(s) in semester hours

Activities

  • Use online research skills to locate relevant content articles and/or videos (many tips are provided)
  • Create a professional development presentation for other educators
  • Develop a personal implementation plan which will bring about positive change
