Course Description

Credit Validation for Guam Department of Education Participants Only

This course focuses on school librarianship. It is designed to provide experiences in school library administration, reference materials and services, collection building, cataloging, classification, and automation while under the direct supervision of a certified school librarian. It also provides curriculum and instruction practices with guidance from national library standards.

Course Details

Number of Units: 3.0 graduate level extension credit(s) in semester hours

Who Should Attend: This course provides continuing education for Guam public school teachers and librarians are the intended audience and will benefit from school librarianship. The participants will be able to develop an understanding of the multiple roles of the school librarian as a media specialist, share the academic research, and appreciate the center's instructional programs.

Prerequisites: Participants must have completed the previous course, EDC-X777U Administration Principles for a School Library.
