Course Description

Credit Validation for Guam Department of Education Participants Only 

The focus of this course is on the principles, rules, and practices of cataloging and classifying print and non-print formats in a school library from acquisition to circulation. It include the application and construction elements of a bibliographic system using Library of Congress Classification, Library of Congress Subject Headings, Machine-Readable Cataloging (MARC) format, and Resource Description and Access to include principle and practice of authority control for names and titles, tagging, formatting of data, and the influences of technology.
