Course Description

Credit Validation for DoDEA Participants Only

Core Instruction provides a wealth of relevant pedagogy and AVID strategies that are appropriate across all age groups and student grade levels. With a focus on academic language and discourse and inquiry-based instruction, educators will explore how they can leverage AVID's evidence-based, instructional best practices to support the diverse needs of all students. This course is designed for teacher leaders to both utilize and facilitate strategies from the Core Instruction Modules within their respective school site. Teacher leaders will facilitate the Core Instruction Module synchronously as a full staff, AVID site team, or by department.

Number of Units: 1.0 - 2.0 graduate level extension credit(s) in semester hours. Select correct units upon checkout.

Who Should Attend: This course provides continuing education for AVID Teachers, AVID Coordinators, and Secondary Teachers.
