Course Description

Be Prepared For Anything That the Event Industry May Throw Your Way!

picture of a man taking off his shirt like he is a superhero, representing the need for risk management and knowledge of legal issues taught in this course

This course has two main purposes: The first one is to provide a high level overview of risk management techniques and legal issues that might arise in the areas of contracts, torts (personal and property), intellectual property rights and laws and regulations germane to the industry, with the intention of enabling students to recognize and plan for potential risks inherent in the industry and manage them accordingly; and provide practical and business solutions for managing these risks. The second purpose is to assist students in finalizing their capstone projects: portfolio, which they could later present to potential clients. Students will also learn the art of effective communication and presentation skills, empowering them to deal with crisis management, which happens in this industry.
