Credit Validation for Mathematics Vision Project Workshop Participants Only

This two day training will take an in-depth look at mathematical functions and how they are developed in the Common Core.

Course was previously titled "Modeling Functions: Progressions and Practices".

Learner Outcomes

  • Learn new ways to represent and think about all kinds of functions: linear, exponential, quadratic, piece-wise, logarithmic, trigonometric, and more. Tasks that connect with functions progressions across all Secondary Mathematics Standards will be shared
  • Experience for yourself new ways of teaching functions that builds a richer, more powerful understanding for students
  • Experience how the Standards for Mathematical Practice are seamlessly embedded in every lesson, building confidence and competency in students, as they engage with tasks throughout a progression of a learning cycle of the Comprehensive Mathematics Framework

Number of Units: 1.0 graduate level extension credit(s) in semester hours

Who Should Attend:  This course provides continuing education for all High School Math teachers that are seeking to implement the Common Core Standards. Insight into the standards and the progressions and mathematical practices will be a major focus. All tasks and materials shared are free.

Instructors:  Instructors for this two day conference are authors of the Mathematics Vision Project (MVP) materials. The development team shares the MVP curriculum as a new and innovative open educational resource during teacher training workshops across the country. The team includes classroom teachers, a curriculum director, a math specialist and a university professor.

Refund Policy: All Credit Validation enrollments are refundable, less a $25 fee, if requested within 30 days of enrollment date. There will be no refunds for Credit Validation courses after the allotted 30 days.
