Fun Things to do in San Diego – Fall 2021

We are excited at the prospect of welcoming our students back to campus for the Fall 2021 semester, which is just weeks away!

As a native San Diegan, I love to talk with new students about my city and offer suggestions on all the wonderful things to do and see in what has been coined as “America’s Finest City.”

Many parks and amusements have been closed due to the pandemic but have reopened with new vitality and look forward to welcoming visitors from all over the world to partake in their offerings. I am sharing just a few of those with you. *Imagine in just weeks, you can experience some of these for yourself!

  1. Nighttime Zoo at the San Diego Zoo-come “rock and roar” every day this summer with music and other amazing entertainment experiences. There’s so much to do, see, and hear at Nighttime Zoo!
  2. Secrets and Highlights of Balboa Park -explore the country’s best urban cultural parks. Tour the grand architecture, diverse museums, captivating gardens, and more.
  3. Virtual Comic-Con-one of the world’s largest pop culture events goes virtual.
  4. Music in the Courtyard-free live music al fresco at Seaport Village on the harbor.
  5. Coronado History and Highlights Tour-discover the famed Coronado Island, marvel at the historic Hotel Del Coronado, enjoy a delicious treat at a favorite eatery, hear stories of the artists, aviators, and innovators who have made the island their home.
  6. Point Loma Adventure-7 fun things to do on the Point Loma Peninsula, including a visit to the 125-year-old lighthouse, hiking trails, dockside dining at the bay, and more.
