This intensive 10-week course is designed to engage educators in an exploration of research-informed strategies for developing self-directed learners with an emphasis on the MARIO Approach, an evidence-based intervention plan delivered during structured 1:1 learning conversations. At the heart of the MARIO Framework is the commitment to protect, connect, and empower all learners. Participants not only gain knowledge of the Framework and how it can be effectively implemented, they also synthesize this knowledge within the context of their unique community making the learning meaningful and actionable. Participants engage in iterative self-reflection throughout the course, gauge their progress towards mastery through 2 different types of projects, participate in rich pedagogical conversation with colleagues, and meet online with their coach for robust 1:1 learning conversations.
