In this course, instructors will explore ways to integrate Speaking and Listening Skills into their designated and integrated English Language Development instruction and throughout the school day. A variety of research-based strategies, activities, and pedagogies will be introduced and analyzed for effectiveness in guiding English Language Learners toward English proficiency. This course will guide learners toward identifying the specific learning needs and assets processed by ELL students in their learning environment and help them reach their full potential.
Number of Units: 3.0 graduate level extension credit(s) in semester hours
Who Should Attend: This course provides continuing education for teachers and working professionals that want to improve Speaking and Listening Skills among English Language Learners. This course will be useful for educational professional that are working in a whole-class setting, small group or one-on-one interventions.
