This course is designed to build teacher expertise in supporting English Learners (ELs) through an integrated approach to literacy across content areas in elementary education. Participants will explore strategies that ensure equitable, high-quality learning opportunities for ELs, helping them grow into critical and productive citizens. Through engaging with disciplinary exemplars, teachers will learn how to set high expectations while providing the necessary support to help students succeed. Emphasis will be placed on designing scaffolded lessons aligned with key standards and developing students’ academic use of English across the disciplines.
