Credit Validation for AVID Participants Only

AVID District Director Leadership (DDL) 2 is designed to focus on the specific management roles of the AVID District Director. This 12-hour training is mandatory for District Directors and optional for district leaders supporting AVID implementation. Participants will revisit the AVID College and Career Readiness framework and five district leadership priorities for AVID implementation (goal alignment, coaching implementation, professional learning, progress monitoring, and strategic collaboration and communication), with a focus on roles and responsibilities unique to the District Director’s role in managing AVID. Participants will explore select AVID resources designed to support District Directors in ensuring a strong AVID implementation at both the site and district level.

  • Ensure the quality and impact of AVID implementation by establishing a sustainable infrastructure of support and by providing informed, responsive, and ongoing coaching for key school/district staff
  • Establish responsive, AVID-informed professional learning plans that educate and empower staff to reach student college and career readiness goals and include an explicit continuous improvement cycle
  • Monitor all aspects of AVID implementation to ensure quality and impact on identified student outcomes
  • Establish internal and external partnerships to ensure strong AVID implementation and will provide ongoing, proactive communication to ensure understanding of AVID, its intended outcomes, and the actions needed to reach those outcomes
