Credit Validation for Escondido Union (Elementary) School District Teachers Only

The New EUSD Teacher Support is a structured yet flexible system consisting of a series of assessment forums that focus teachers to use a "plan, teach, reflect, apply" process and blends teaching knowledge with performance. It is designed for credentialed first and second year teachers with the assistance of trained and experienced educators. The process is grounded in a developmental view of teaching and integrates the California Standards for the Teaching Profession (CSTP) and the K-12 state adopted academic content standards for students.

Number of Units: 3.0 - 6.0 graduate level extension credit(s) in semester hours

Who Should Attend: This course provides continuing education for Escondido Union School District teachers.

Prerequisites:

Current, active participation in the Escondido Teacher Support Program is required.

The focus of this course is on differentiation. Participants teachers select three focus students (ELL, Special Population and choice). Teachers implement differentiated strategies for each focus student. The three types of differentiation required are: process, product and content. Differentiation is a requirement for all inquiries and professional development reflections. Participants must take part in activities such as the reading of "The Differentiated Instructional Strategies" and attend Assessment and Differentiation workshops.
