Course Description

Credit Validation for DoDEA Participants Only

This course will allow participants to gain a deeper understanding of emotional and mental health issues impacting students. Participants will read four non-fiction texts. The group will also discuss additional texts as resources to increase awareness of mental health concerns for both teachers and students throughout the school year. They will discuss the books with a Professional Learning Team and make connections to their lives and teaching, with a focus on supporting both students and teachers. A final reflection project and methods to increase well-being at school will be submitted to the instructor at the end of the course.
