The one unit course will provide instruction on how to accurately follow the new Student threat and Suicide Risk Assessment Protocol. Through role playing participants will feel ready to implement SSRA and STA tools, as well as understand how to complete paper work related these protocols.

  • Follow the new Administrative Instruction (AI) 5200.01, Student threat and Suicide Risk Assessment Protocol
  • Understand the history, changes from previous policies, and how to appropriately utilize the new documents and resources
  • Collaborate with their school team(s) to develop school-specific processes ? Become more confident and capable in responding to real life scenarios
  • Interpret available information in order to determine next steps
  • Communicate more effectively with school team members, parents, and outside providers or responders as deemed necessary
  • Follow-up with well-functioning re-entry meetings, well written safety plans, well-developed interventions and services, appropriate referrals to outside agencies, and better student and parent support
