This seminar will explore the ideas and practices that emerged from the 'race science' of the Eugenics Movement, the beliefs and policies that supported the racism of the Jim Crow era, and the successes and struggles of school desegregation during the Civil Rights Movement. The seminar will also look at the legacies of this history as we make connections to today.
