Course Description

Credit Validation for DoDEA Participants 

This course is designed to enhance the leadership capacity of PK-5 instructional leaders so they can better support the implementation of High-Quality Instructional Practices (HQIP). Based on a variety of identified elementary program needs, the following HQIP implementation goals were identified for Instructional Leaders:

  1. Establish structures that support balanced elementary instruction and provide equitable access to PK-5 CCR standards for all students. 
  2. Build collective efficacy and elevate educator practice by understanding HQIP, communicating the purpose for implementation and aligning district and regional professional learning to Excellent Instruction, the Learning Walkthrough Tool and DoDEA’s Blueprint for Continuous Improvement.
  3. Support and sustain HQIP implementation, by observing HQIPs in the classroom and facilitating individual and collaborative coaching conversations with formative feedback on educator practice and student learning.
  4. Through regular monitoring and implementation of data-analysis systems that measure student/school growth, school leaders will promote data-informed and differentiated instruction that supports student success.
