Participants will be able to increase knowledge about generating ideas for original research projects for Junior Science & Humanities Symposium (JSHS).

Number of Units: 2.0 graduate level extension credit(s) in semester hours

Who Should Attend: This course provides continuing education for current DoDEA Classroom Teachers

Prerequisites:

Attend and participate in all the face-to-face training sessions in Okinawa, Japan on September 8th and 9th 2022

What You Will Learn

  • Enhance clinical skills to provide students with guidance and meaningful feedback on their written and oral presentations in preparation for JSHS 
  • Maximize the selecting of suitable project mentors and ensure that all JSHS standards, guidelines and deadlines are met as stated in the JSHS manual
  • Create a better understanding of the roles and responsibilities for sponsors and mentors ? Gain an understanding of JSHS timeline to maximize planning
  • Review and evaluate the status of their school JSHS team participation by looking at four-year trend data for their individual school
  • Offer strategies to help prepare students with their oral presentation at the annual symposium (approximately four weeks prior to the Regional JSHS)
