This course will allow participants to learn about and implement the Caring School Community program in their studio/neighborhood. Participants will meet as a small group with a designated member of the Student Support Services Team (e.g., school counselors or school psychologist) and review and discuss the Caring School Community program. The course will highlight common language and the implementation of weekly classroom lessons organized around behavioral, social, and emotional learning (BSEL) focus during a daily morning circle (i.e., whole-class greeting, brief morning activity to practice the week’s SEL skills, class meeting lessons to discuss the BSEL focus and related issues, and completing the Things to Do This Week section with strategies to integrate the week’s BSEL focus throughout the school day).
