Gainful Employment Statistics

Students who are accepted to the Paralegal Program may qualify for financial assistance from the following sources:

  • Federal Unsubsidized Stafford Loan and/or Graduate PLUS Loan - Only available to students who have completed a bachelor's degree. Due to the length of time required for processing, students seeking government student loans should submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) when they first consider enrolling in the Paralegal Program!
  • Private loans - Available to all qualifying students.
  • Veterans Benefits - Your first step in obtaining VA Benefits (including Post 9/11 benefits) for use in the Paralegal Program is to contact the VA to determine eligibility. If you find that you are eligible you must notify the Paralegal Office and provide a Certificate of Eligibility.

  • Employment Development Department (EDD) / San Diego Workforce Partnership The USD Paralegal Program is an Eligible Training Provider for dislocated workers who seek retraining. Check with SDWP to see if funding is currently available.

  • Monthly Payment Plans - USD’s Office of Student Accounts offers monthly installment contracts to assist students funding the Program out of pocket. A payment plan can be set up via the MySanDiego portal after a student is registered for classes.
  • Employer Reimbursement - The Program Office can furnish students with progress reports to facilitate employer reimbursement. The student remains responsible for meeting all payment deadlines.
